When you're not charging up a storm trying to reach the $100 gift card level of the Philly-only Barneys Co-op loyalty card, you should head into the Northern Liberties neighborhood for a weekend evening at the new Market at The Piazza.
The Market, held in the open square where there used to be Schmidt's brewery but now where you'll only find super contemporary condo buildings, just started up last weekend and we were there. It'll open up every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7pm, and it's to be a year-round thing.
We shopped the stalls of organic, homemade cookies, leather bags, antiques and even garage sale goodies from KidRobot on Sunday evening, so most of the quirky regular stores that line the Piazza were closed. Note that down. The restaurants, bars and coffeeshops were however hopping, so it's really a win-win situation.
