Since it doesn't exist Stateside, we wanted to make sure we got a first-hand look-see at H!, Henry Holland's (of House of Holland big slogan T-shirt fame) lower-priced collaborative line with UK department store Debenhams—a company with a long history of ongoing designer collaborations with the likes of Matthew Williamson, Julien Macdonald, John Rocha, and Jasper Conran.
Holland's Debenhams collection is definitely the youngest-spirited of the bunch—true to form, his prints and colors are brash, clashing, and loud. From £35 printed nylon trench coats to £18 printed tops, £31 hi-top floral sneakers, and £20 polka-dot bikinis, there's something available in nearly every mainstream apparel-accessory category.
Is Holland's customer buying? Do House of Holland customers even shop at Debenhams? We're not sure. When we stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, there was no one in the H! section—a rather gigantic section of the store, actually, probably about 300-ish square feet—and about a third of the section was on sale or clearance. We bought at £7 black and white printed and studded T-shirt on clearance and we love it. Those are the standout pieces, by the way, H! T-shirts. The original and best.
