In what'll probably wind up being the second hardest-to-crash event in New York State this summer (the first-hardest being Chelsea Clinton's wedding—and only on account of no one being completely sure whereabouts it's set to take place), Anna Wintour will host a dinner for President Barack Obama tonight at the Wintour homestead on Sullivan Street in downtown Manhattan.
The last time Wintour threw an Obama fundraiser, it was June 2008 and she co-hosted with Andre Leon Talley, Shelby Bryan, and Calvin Klein. Back then, before the Obamas ascended the White House, tickets cost between $1,000 and $2,300 for the reception and $10,000 a head for the after-dinner.
This time? WWD reports a pared-down guest list with names including Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. Maybe it's because, according to the Washington Post, tickets for tonight's sit-down supper are going for somewhere in the ballpark of $30,000 a head.
