Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Did you know that Madonna-progeny Lourdes Ciccone has her own language? Okay, not really, but she does have a particular brand of blog-slang. The ladies over at Fashionista have compiled a pretty comprehensive and hilarious Lola-dictionary of some of the pop-princess' favorite terms—words that make recurring appearances on her blog. Like: "Mehmehmehmehmeh: Context (not that it helps here): “Ok so as you all know Material Girl is OFFICIALLY coming out in like a week. Mehmehmehmehmeh. Awesome or what?!!! YESSS,” and “It was lovely blogging to you all, please keep reading and don’t forget to bring your own toilet paper to festivals. mehmehmehmeh.” Translation: “I’m an excited LOL cat."" [Fashionista]
