Would you like some internet with that jumbo package of 64 toilet paper rolls? Sam's Club has announced that every one of its more than 600 warehouse stores will be outfitted with free AT&T WiFi by November of this year. The reason? So customers can test out the web features on web-enabled devices—including televisions, computers, and other electronics.
The in-store Wi-Fi isn’t limited to product demos though. CNET says that Sam’s Club will offer online product reviews and allow shoppers to check item prices at competing stores. Today’s press release from Sam’s Club is a little ambiguous on that point, saying, “[H]undreds of product reviews will now be accessible in-club as well to help members research potential purchases and access samsclub.com.”The company will also launch a dedicated iPhone, Blackberry, and Android app this September.
