Marimekko Shop-in-Shop

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Finnish textiles and homewares company Marimekko has had a longstanding (43 years!) collaborative relationship with Crate & Barrel—that relationship is about to get kicked up a notch. This October, look for the Marimekko shop-in-shop—a dedicated area within the SoHo, New York, store that will sell fabrics, bed, bath, and other home products, as well as bags, fashion accessories, and clothing. It'll be one of the few (very few) places in the United States where Marimekko fans will be able to find the company's apparel—in prints that extend far beyond the big pink peonies most prevalent at C&B.
