Stella McCartney Sample Sale

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In the world of fashion there are sample sales—overstock, everyone come-and-get-it, open-to-the-public, clearance palavers—and there are sample sales, those old-school secret friends-and-family score-something-for-90%-off shindigs that restore our faith in bargain shopping. The latter kind is what's happening at the Stella McCartney sale right now. A tipster tells our sister site Racked NY: "The sale is insane, with 80% off deals on runway clothes, sweaters, dresses, and—glory of glories—a room of nothing but shoes. Bags that started at $1300 are now $200, people. Before you rush over there, do note that there's a guest list, although our mole says the gatekeepers are "not vigilant." Just waltz in like you're supposed to be there, and hope a stampede doesn't blow your cover."
