Barneys creative director Simon Doonan tries his hand at mass market this October with the launch of his Costume Couture for Target collection—a series of whimsical, be-sloganed costumes that will be priced from $9.99 (dogs) to $25 (kids) to $30 (grown-ups).
Costumes have clever phrases scrawled on them, such as “Trick or Trend” and “Chic or Treat” in the case of the Glamor Ghost costume. A Diva Witch dress is emblazoned with the legends “Fashion Fiend” and “Honk If I’m Fierce.” “You want to be a siren, a seductive witch,” explained Doonan. The collection lands in stores on September 12 and online at Target.com this Sunday.
