Global lifestyle intelligence magazine and brainchild of ex-Wallpaper honcho Tyler Brule—who really really really cares about train travel—is opening its first shop in New York. The West Village space, which is the latest in a series of retail stores for the brand, following LA, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and London, is scheduled to open August 30. It'll sell magazines, brand collabs, and other Monocle-faves from around the world. The space used to be a Monster Sushi and still shares a wall with Contesta Rockhair (which is ostensibly a hair salon). If you're unemployed and reading this, Monocle is also looking for employees to help run the place. [RNY]
