Check out the national costume that Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell is due to wear at the Miss Universe pageant next month in Las Vegas—yes those are high-heeled Ugg boots.
The look is comprised of a one-piece swimsuit painted in an aboriginal pattern, a lambswool shrug, and a gigantic floor-length rainbow skirt. Campbell loves it, she says. She (rightly) calls it "incredible."
The Australian media, however, has widely panned the look, calling it a "national joke" and a "travesty."
"She's bang on trend with the shrug and boots. Shearling is very hot right now, but the skirt looks like it was made for a flamenco dancer from discount fabric bin scraps," said Clare Maclean, the fashion features editor of Australian Grazia.
What do you think of Miss Australia's competition outfit? Let's put it to a vote, shall we? And don't forget about the high-heel Uggs.
