J. Crew Men's on Madison

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

J. Crew opened its dedicated men's shop on the Upper East Side today and our sister site Racked NY has the scoop. "Encompassing two levels in a former Madison Avenue bank space, the shop looks like it's been there since the building opened. Every surface is encrusted in reclaimed and custom-carved pine planks elevating the humble every-wood into paneling fit for a Vanderbilt. The lighting is soft, the signage is art deco, and the built-in shelving is filled with apothecary bottles and stacks of perfectly folded mismatched shirting." [RNY]
