Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This Bulgari ad featuring Julianne Moore lying naked across a divan with a handbag and lion cubs has been banned from display in Venice's St. Mark's Square. "An advertisement showing a nude woman on a divan is not appropriate for St. Mark's Square," said mayor Giorgio Orsoni. The billboard was slated to appear on Doge's Palace. Bulgari has replaced the original image with a new photo of a fully-clothed Moore.
