WWD Runs Snark-Filled Kardashian-Mocking K-Dash Preview Story

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Another day, another Kardashian product-launch. Today's WWD chronicles the imminent unveiling of Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian's new clothing line for QVC, which is set to bow on September 10. No doubt the interviewer's hard-wrangled face time with Kim and Kourtney—"Attempting to link up with the Triple K sisters to talk about their new fashion line with QVC is like trying to hold quicksilver—there one moment and gone the next."—kicked things off on a sour note, and the rather uncharacteristic-of-WWD snark that ensued is, well, kind of hilarious.

In the hyper-hyped World of All Things Kardashian All the Time, even two Ks are sold as a major "get," since apparently the sisters are rarely in the same city at the same time, despite what one sees on TV. Makes one wonder how they film the E network show.
Writer Khanh Tran goes on to snip at the K-sisters' "15 minutes of fame" and how they're "stretching it as far as it possibly can go without snapping." Tran also notes that "they aren't really designing the line—that's left to a real designer, Ginny Hilfiger, sister of Tommy."

"And never one to pass up an audience, the prospect of broadcasting to the 98 million U.S. households within QVC’s network appeals to Kourtney," Tran writes, adding, "Anyone who’s watched even a snippet of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" is familiar with how loudly opinionated the Kardashians can be."

The 31-piece K-Dash collection will be priced from $19.50 for a belt up to $239 for a handbag. The collection will be made in sizes ranging from two to 26.
