White House crasher Michaele Salahi (who's appearing on the new show Real Housewives of DC) has announced that she will be auctioning off the red sari which she wore to crash the White House state dinner. Salahi says that the proceeds from the sale will go to benefit victims of the Haitian earthquake and those afflicted by multiple sclerosis. Reports at the time of the crash criticized Salahi for picking an inappropriate color sari—it's said she wore the ethnic dress to blend in because the state dinner was for India, but the red and gold was more appropriate for a celebratory wedding than a staid government affair. Fashion faux pas for sale. [Yahoo]
