Bitches in Stitches: What Society Dogs are Wearing this Season

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last week, we brought you the mindblowing cat-tastic stylings of Takako Iwasa, whose new book Fashion Cats is now available for pre-order. This week, we're bringing you bitches in stitches—the haute-est summer party dresses and formalwear for dogs from Kiki Hamann Canine Couture.

Based out of Miami, Florida, Kiki Hamann isn't just some floofy cutesy dog apparel manufacturer. Hamann designs and creates pieces that are sketched, designed, and hand-crafted to luxury standards—the "Alexandra" dress above, for example, was inspired by a Faberge egg and is constructed from silk quilted lily of the valley leaves, tinted silk shantung, pearl and crystal lilies, and four-layers of hand-dip-dyed organza skirt. The price? Upon request. Just like couture.
