Bedbug Freezer Burn

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

What to do if you love shopping vintage but are terrified of toting home some bloodsucking bedbugs? Why, put your purchases in the freezer, says our sister site Racked NY: "What you can do is follow the advice suggested by vintage expert Bridgett Artise: If you buy anything vaguely suspicious, put it in a plastic bag and leave it in the freezer for three days. Once it thaws, take it to a dry cleaner." [RNY]
