The Crazy Stripper Pumps of Unite Unveiled and Project Runway

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Tuesday night we hit SoHo's Red Bull party space for Unite Unveiled—a group show featuring the work of three up-and-coming designers featured on seasons 6 and 7 of Project Runway. Great crowd, great party, great vodka, great work: But get a load of these crazy-assed tranny-stripper shoes! What? Why? Help us understand!

The event featured the work of Althea Harper—whose breezy, tie-dyed numbers were lovely and salable but whose footwear selections were just too tasteful to talk about here, Jesus (and Antonio) Estrada and Gordana Gehlhausen.
