Is Tim Gunn on a mission to get kicked off planet fashion? In addition to slagging off Conde Nast, Anna Wintour, Isaac Mizrahi, Taylor Momsen, and the Real Housewives of New Jersey while on his book tour in recent weeks, Gunn has turned his vitriolic attentions to the producers of Project Runway—the show that made him famous. He's been posting bitter post-show confessional-style videos on his Facebook post-show every week:
For the past several weeks, Gunn has been posting episode postmortems to his Facebook page, sharing his unfiltered, uncensored thoughts in ten-minute videos taped all in one single take. The videos have grown saltier week after week, as Gunn shares the behind-the-scenes ineptitude and production disasters that have apparently plagued this season—events viewers never get to see. His frustration came to a head while recapping last week's challenge, where the designers were challenged to make modern-day sportswear inspired by Jackie Kennedy. Could that be why shortly after the new video was posted to his Facebook page, it suddenly disappeared without a trace? The video, above, is now embedded at Viddler for your viewing enjoyment.
So, what is Gunn's media strategy here? Sure, talk smack about a few celebrities and high-profile fashion industry names to sell some books, but now he's biting the hand that feeds him? What gives, Gunn?
