Hermes Liveblog

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Man, we love a good sample sale liveblog—our sister site Racked NY has been on the scene at the Hermes Sample Sale line since 8:11 this morning. Apparently, the first die-hard bargain shopper arrived to line up at 5:30 a.m. Hope she brought a wad of cash, cuz yesterday's reports peg the least expensive item at the sale around $70 (men's tie) with men's shoes starting around $364—Hermes doesn't run a bargain bin sample sale! No children under 12 allowed, 90 minutes wait at the cash register, and a three hour queue to get in. Is it worth it? Check out the liveblog to find out. [RNY]
