Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Next week, Racked National will be decamping to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, which is taking place in and around Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. It's the first season fashion week will be held uptown—the bi-annual showing of the clothes had been situated at midtown's Bryant Park for ages and ages.
Today, The Cut released an interactive guide to the new fashion week neighborhood—including eating, shopping, and drinking destinations in the area—and, just as we suspected, there's hardly anywhere to eat around there. What will the dozens of thousands of industry people, publicists, media, designers, makeup artists, stylists, production people, security, buyers, executives, hairstylists, and models (oh wait) eat during fashion week? Will the Whole Foods at Columbus Circle be a completely and utter shitshow? Stay tuned for the low-blood-sugar-induced madness to come.
