Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Racked is heading up to Boston for a couple of days next week—so let us know if there's anything we absolutely must check out while in town—and we were excited about checking out the new Jack Wills store on Newbury Street, the third branch of the British prep-style retailer in the United States after Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Sadly, it looks as if the in-town location has yet to open.
Style Carrot reports that the store is still papered up and hiring, but there's a branded Land Rover Defender 90 patrolling Newbury Street in its stead—all Brit-style and stuff, with the steering wheel on the right side of the vehicle. Also in the works for the Newbury Street Copley Place area: a new Alex and Ani store set to bow October 17; Simon Pierce moved down the block to the former Waterworks space; Rockport is back in a below-ground-level location; and Michael Kors will open a new lifestyle store at Copley Place next door to Jimmy Choo.
