Mark Ruffalo Looking Crazy in a Rainbow Brite Cape

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Click on over to Fashionista for a dissection of W's "Best Performances” spread. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Melanie Ward, the highlight (or, maybe lowlight, your call) is this semi-crazy portrait of Mark Ruffalo. Says Fashionista: "Why the technicolor dreamcoat? Why topless with his hand extended back over his head as if to say, “Ole!” but in an intense seductive kind of way? Why the weird sunset backdrop?"

All very, very good questions for which we have no answers whatsoever.
