Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Thank you, WWD—for today's dish on the newest addition to the cast of Bravo's Real Housewives of New York City. Here's the dirt: Her name's Cindy Barshop and she's the owner/founder of a chain of laser hair removal spas called Completely Bare. Launched in 1998, the company has locations all over Manhattan and in Scarsdale, NY, with new shops slated for Long Island, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas. All-in-all, it's a not-too-shabby $5 million a year business—looks like that Vajewel ("sparkly adhesives for the area down there") launch went pretty well. But we digress—maybe this Real Housewife won't file for bankruptcy!

Anyway, Barshop is a multitasking power-accomplisher who lives in the West Village and will likely bring a dose of downtown casual to the uptowners who already populate the show. That means we'll be seeing Barshop favs by Rick Owens, Phillip Lim, Haute Hippie and Hunter on screen along with all those shimmery Jill Stuart and Luca Luca cocktail dresses the other ladies wear from breakfast to bedtime.

The new season premiers in mid-February.
