Accessorize Will Open Four More Locations in the Northeast By July—Will Monsoon Stores Be Far Behind?

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Accessorize opened its sixth American store this morning in Manhattan's Union Square—our sister site Racked NY has all the deets on that. The British High Street chain currently operates six shops in the United States—three in Washington, DC, one in Long Island's Roosevelt Field mall, and two in downtown Manhattan.

We popped to check out the new space last night and spoke with George Simon, managing director of Monsoon Accessorize USA, who told us that the chain will open four more locations in the northeastern United States by July. Simon also mentioned that the British-based family-run company is considering bringing the Monsoon retail concept—affordable, colorful, Bohemian- and South Asian-inspired aesthetic—Stateside in the future as well.
