Beauty Obsession of the Day: Peter Thomas Roth's Ultimate Creme

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's been years since we've used a face cream packaged in a tube—after suffering through the typically oily teenage years, our skin has, ever since, been more likely than not to be dry, especially in the winter months. While we love our beautiful glass jars of luxurious, rich anti-aging creams, we long for the portability and dispensing ease (read: the sanitary, not having to dip our fingers into-ness) of tubes. This weekend we tried out Peter Thomas Roth's new Ultimate Creme in a Tube (the PTR people sent us a sample) and now we're totally hooked.

This brand-new product is super-hydrating and promises to increase skin moisture levels by 248% for a full eight hours—we've been sleeping in it and, in the mornings, our skin still feels soft and hydrated. It also contains skin-loving shea butter, and Vitamins A, C, E and Pro Vitamin B5 for nourishment. Plus, we love that it's not heavily perfumed. All in all, we highly recommend PTR's Ultimate Creme in a Tube—we'd totally buy this product again.
