Well, it's over. Bravo's the Fashion Show, season 2, has come to an end after last night's finale episode. Working individually for the first time for their final challenge, Dominique, Calvin and Jeffrey competed for a $125,000 cash prize and a spread in Harper's Bazaar. Each designer was required to produce a nine look collection with $3600—bearing in mind that both Dominique and Jeffrey had bonus cash from previous wins. At the last minute, each designer was assigned a specific look to add to their group—a certain something that represented a challenge to that designer's established aesthetic or talent. That meant Calvin was asked to create a tuxedo; Jeffrey something strapless; and Dominique a business ensemble.
We're super duper happy to report that Jeffrey—who designed a gorgeous mom-inspired collection in reds and grays—won the prize. Dominique's hip collection of sassy-in-the-city separates was lauded but eliminated first; and Calvin's minimal series of beautifully flowing and super-wearable black and white looks ended up a very strong contender.
The judges panel included Iman, Isaac Mizrahi and Laura Brown plus guest judge Mary J. Blige and a return appearance by Glenda Bailey.
And now, our top ten moments from episode 10:
10.) Cindy, Tamara and David were shipped in to assist Jeffrey, Calvin and Dominique respectively. Dominique obviously became a love puddle around David and the whole situation really caught Tamara off guard: "What happened while I was gone? Did they need condoms?"
9.) Calvin on his collection: "A journey of me as an angry person."
8.) Calvin, at the fabric store, creeping through racks, on the fabric choices of his teammates: "Look horrible."
7.) Aw, Dominique's tie-dying is an homage to Cesar's mastery of dying.
6.) Oh shut-up Dominique: "This whole process has been just noise," an "exploration of me."
5.) Jeffrey's backdrop, candles, set design—we're thinking he's really into Madonna's Ray of Light right now.
4.) Isaac to Jeffrey: "Start! Bring it! Take it!"
3.) Adorable: Calvin's mom was there! He cried a little and told his models: "Girls, make me proud today, okay?"
2.) Mary J. on Jeffrey's collection: "It felt like an orgasm."
1.) Something about the way Iman plucked that bit of confetti from Isaac's mane—a moment that will probably stay with us forever.
