Eyeball Necklaces Are, Like, a Thing: Nicki Minaj and W Say So

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Here's Nicki Minaj on one of the covers for W magazine's November Art & Fashion Issue, where she's sort of wearing an eyeball necklace. And when we say she is sort of wearing an eyeball necklace, we mean her eye is sort of wearing an eyeball necklace. This inevitably led to a Google search of eyeball necklaces, which then led to the conclusion that this is definitely a thing and apparently has been for a while. Have a look after the jump at five of them, including one from Bottega Veneta that's priced well over $3,000 and has sold out on Net-a-Porter.

Bottega Veneta blackened oxidized silver eye necklace, $3,780 at Net-a-Porter: (Sold out!) There are earrings to match.
Cat's Eye Necklace, $31.75 at Zazzle: For the cat lady who wants to just take it one step further.
Scared EYEBALL Necklace Horror Goth psycho PARANIOA, $9.99 at Etsy: If you don't like this one, Etsy has 334 other eyeball options to choose from.
Human Eyeball Eye Horror Oval Silver Necklace, $15.99 at eBay: Quite possibly the creepiest of the options.
Gothic Hologram Eye Choker, $24.90 at iOffer: And wouldn't you know it, the one with the velvet choker and the hologram costs 25 bucks.
