We love shopping on flash sale sites, but as the holidays near, we wish we knew exactly what items will be on their sale schedules. If a site is going to have great buys on fun gifts, we want to know about them before we spend our money someplace else. Fortunately, Ideeli recently invited us to a preview of some of their upcoming holiday "It-Gift" items—all of which will be selling between now and January. Click through for some of our favorites.
We'll start with gifts we want to buy our female friends. We love the Tech Touch Gloves from Laundry by Shelli Segal. These cute two-tone acrylic gloves allow the wearer to use a smart phone in winter while still keeping their hands warm—no more fingerless gloves or removing a mitten just to check emails. And best yet, Ideeli will be selling these for just $19 a pair, so they make the perfect gift for friends and for ourselves. Also in the stylish-yet-weather-appropriate category are the fabulously shaped black plastic booties by Melissa. These will sell for just $59.99, and since they're waterproof, they're a great way to keep your feet dry while still looking fashionable.
And as always, Ideeli will be selling clothing, including dressy fashions for holiday parties. For $39.99, they'll be offering a pair of La Cite black sequin pants, which we've already decided that we need. (Our list of gifts for women has somehow already morphed into a list of things we want for ourselves.)
When it comes to unisex gifts, we're quite taken with the iLuv iPad Case & Speaker for $32.99. It does exactly what it says: It protects your iPad while providing a built-in speaker. On the more luxurious, yet still reasonably priced, end of the spectrum, Ideeli will be offering a white Frette unisex bathrobe priced at just $59.99. There's nothing specifically unique about it, but it's an opportunity to give someone you care about (or someone you need to impress) a nice gift from Frette for a really good price.
Continuing with great prices on luxe goods, Ideeli has a couple of particularly good deals coming up for men. Patterned John Varvatos Star dress shirts will be priced from $42.99 to 49.99, which is about half of what they cost in top department stores. We also recommend a T-Tech by Tumi black waterproof wool jacket for $229.99. Its generous cut looks like it would flatter almost every man—even those who tend to eat just a little too much over the holidays.
But enough with the grown-up gifts. We've been saving the best for last. Our two favorite upcoming Ideeli gift selections are for kids. The first is an Alexander Taron fur rocking horse, which looks like it would cost a few hundred dollars, but amazingly, will be priced at just $69.99. When you squeeze the pony's ear, he makes loud horse noises, which we suspect kids will love and their parents, well, probably won't. And finally, if you're willing to splurge a bit more, Ideeli has the ultimate kids' gift—a miniature battery operated silver convertible Mercedes that young kids can drive around their homes. It's $299, and at that price, we wish they'd make a bigger, adult version.
There are no dates for these sales yet, so if any of these gifts grabs you, keep your eyes on Ideeli. They'll all be available soon.
