Last night at Skylight West in NYC, we fêted our Racked Awards 2011 winners with those amazing gold turbans we've been talking about, and tried to get them on as many winner's heads as possible. Guests of honor who received our national awards included the team from Net-a-Porter, who accepted their turban for Shopping Site of the Year; the dapper gentlemen from Park & Bond, who took Best New E-Commerce Site; and our new friends at Fashism, who won the award for Best Fashion Start-Up of the Year.
Elle's Joe Zee even made an appearance, as did Twitter Personality of the Year John Jannuzzi and Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean, which we've crowned the Best Men's Blog of the Year. (Speaking of crowns, Jannuzzi wore his turban.) In other spectacular news, the winner for Chicago's Best Fabric Store—Supreme Novelty Fabrics—actually showed up, which perhaps means that he (along with our Chicago editor) traveled the furthest for their award.
The entire night was a huge success, but perhaps the fanciest feather in our cap came after we recieved a personal email from John Malkovich himself, who thanked us for acknowledging his "little collection" (he was up for Celebrity Designer of the Year), but said he would unfortunately not be able to make it. NYC's Cutest Store Sidekick did show up, though: Monkey, the Boston Terrier from Any Old Iron came wearing a plaid bowtie and might have made it into more pictures than those handsome Gilt hunks. Head over to our New York site for an entire slideshow of the party. See you next year!
