Karl Lagerfeld Will Have You Know He's Making Watches Now

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Some might think that announcing two separate lines would be enough to tide oneself over for a bit, but not for Karl Lagerfeld. No, no; a mere handful of days after laying out his plans for his upcoming Karl and Karl Lagerfeld Paris lines (the first of which will debut in January, the second, not 'til fall of 2013) he's gone and told WWD that he just signed a deal with Fossil Inc. to make some watches.

He'll be doing styles for both men and women, will sell them under the Karl Lagerfeld label (not Fossil) and they'll hit stores in the spring of 2013. And for one reason or another, innerwear might be next. We're imagining his face, smack dab on both products.
