Flats-and-cardigans queen Tory Burch isn't content to just keep designing. She held a party in her new Washington, DC boutique last week to raise funds for The Rebecca Project for Human Rights, a group that "advocates for justice, dignity, and policy reform for vulnerable women and girls in the United States and in Africa." While in DC, Burch gave an interview to Politico. Since you can't talk about DC fashion without talking about Michelle Obama, Burch talked about her appreciation for the First Lady.
"I think [Michelle] has had many great fashion moments and she dresses beautifully. Her style is noticed around the world, and that’s a great thing for fashion and for Washington," Burch said. "Doo-Ri [Chung], she is a designer that is not that well known and it’s great to give her that recognition. It was a beautiful dress ? one of my favorites."
She adds, "[Washington] is a very sophisticated place. I definitely check in to Cafe Milano at some point because I absolutely adore their food. The Hirshhorn Museum has a great collection of modern art."
