This week, fashion media has been obsessively covering the story of Jenna Lyons' divorce. The J.Crew president and creative director has reportedly left her husband for a woman, which caused mainstream publications like People and Us Magazine to take a break from 24/7 Jennifer Aniston coverage to explain to most of America who the hell Jenna Lyons is. But while Lyons faces constant scrutiny, one fashion couple managed to fly under the radar entirely. Gucci CEO Patrizio di Marco and creative director Frida Giannini just outed themselves as a couple two years after they originally hooked up on a work trip to China.
As The Cut points out, it's not unusual for couples to run fashion labels together, but what makes the di Marco/Giannini relationship so shocking is that they are "employees of a larger, publicly listed company (in this case, it's vast French luxury group PPR)."
Though the couple has been quietly giving other Gucci employees -- and their boss, PPR's François-Henri Pinault -- the heads up about their relationship, this is the official public announcement. Reportedly, their relationship is getting pretty serious. If they get married, we know that the wedding party's outfits will be to die for.
