WWD reports that LVMH is teaming up with London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design for some pretty amazing things. They're sponsoring a 500-seat lecture theater at the new King's Cross campus, have introduced a scholarship program, and will recruit interns for its 60-some-odd brands. So basically, it's a good time to be a student.
LVMH is calling it a "long-term strategic collaboration," with a contract that has a three-year minimum commitment. They're not giving up how much money was spent for all this, but LVMH's Chantal Gaemperle—the senior VP of human resources and synergies—said it's a "significant contribution." And the contributing has already begun: They just named the three recipients of the Grand Prix scholarship, which covers final-year tuition in the B.A. Fashion program, as well as some of the living expenses. The opportunities extend beyond fashion: Gaemperle says that students might even help the company with "new bottle designs for Champagne brands."
