This spring, Costello Tagliapietra will launch a secondary line called C&T Costello Tagliapietra, composed of 13 dresses that will each retail for $298. Robert Tagliapietra says its "almost like a love letter to all the women we worked with who couldn’t afford what equates to rent on a dress. They would buy clothes that were a lot more affordable or wait until things were on sale. We can finally give women something they can just buy and not have to stress about." There's still something a little stressful about $298—that's not chump-change, you know—but it's certainly easier to swallow than the pricier original line.
As you'd expect, the upcoming collection features a lot of draping and gathering, with nine dresses in rayon jersey and four in silk, done in "mostly muted hues" like teal and peacock blue. They'll be launching exclusively to Barneys New York Co-op in March, with other yet-unknown upscale and specialty stores to follow.
