Michelle Williams Implies That She Keeps Her Hair Short as a Heath Ledger Tribute

Michelle Williams is on the cover of December Elle to promote her new film My Week With Marilyn, where she plays Marilyn Monroe. In the interview, Michelle talks about her famous short cut:

What Matilda would love is for her mum to grow out the cropped hair, though that's unlikely to happen any time soon.I've really grown into it - I feel like myself with short hair. And it's been a really long time since I had long hair, five years. Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair! I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it.

We're going to take a wild guess and say the man she's referring to here is her former fiance Heath Ledger, dad of Matilda, who died suddenly in 2008. Still, holding onto a haircut is a really nice way to remember someone, since hair is something you carry around with you every day. Wait, why are we choked up at this hour?
