Alice & Olivia designer Stacey Bendet has done a curated shopping list for members-only shopping site One Kings Lane. The site carries discounted decor, food, wine, and other luxe items during daily flash sales, and Bendet chose some highly covetable items for her sale, which launches today at 11:00. Bendet gamely answered a few of our questions about motherhood, personal style, and so much more. You can also click through the gallery to see some of the items that she picked out. Can you tell me how you got involved with One Kings Lane?
I have been friends with [OKL founder] Ali Pincus for years. Over the summer at the Sun Valley Allen + Company conference we started discussing maybe doing a 4am finds type of curation for One Kings Lane. Oh, and I am a big shopper on their site, I love it!
What are your favorite places to shop in New York?
I love Frock and Amarcord for vintage, Jeffrey for shoes, Irregular Choice for random fun, Depression Modern and Las Venus for furniture?.I pop into Opening Ceremony for random accessories and I love wandering the streets of the Lower East Side. And in Brooklyn I love Eva Gentry and Beacon’s Closet.
Do you have any plans to expand Alice + Olivia into beauty?
I mean, now that I can only find Shu Uemura feather eyelashes in Asia I feel like I just have to!
Has becoming a mom changed the way that you approach fashion?
Not really, but it has made me much better at stain removal.
Define your personal style in three words.
Random. Fun. Sparkly.
On One King's Lane you recommend some holiday gifts. Do you have any tips for people who get stressed out about holiday shopping and feel overwhelmed?
A strong margarita?
