Brooklyn Decker Isn't Wild About Essie's Brown Nail Polish

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Over the weekend, Brooklyn Decker tweeted a picture of herself with a new manicure and the note "I painted my nails the color of poo. "Brown dress" is a nice euphemism for the color. Who told me this was cool again?"

Though she didn't mention the brand, the only color with this name is Essie's "Lilttle Brown Dress," which was part of their fall 2010 collection. On the nail polish maker's website, the color is described as "a beguiling black coffee," and the word "poo" doesn't appear anywhere.

Looks like Brooklyn isn't going to be landing a beauty endorsement with Essie anytime soon.
