A new surgical procedure could change your eye color permanently - goodbye, colored contacts! The procedure, which is about a year away from being perfected and another two away from being available for consumers. Dr. Gregg Homer, who is based in southern California, uses a laser is "that tuned to a specific frequency to remove the pigment from the surface of the iris." Apparently the brown-to-blue thing works since "all brown eyes are blue underneath," but it's not clear whether this will work for other color changes.
