Abby Elliott and Katrina Bowden Talk About TV Makeup vs Real Life Makeup at Ivory Soap Party

Last night, Ivory held a party for their new social media initiative at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan. Recent Emmy winner Melissa McCarthy was there, and Ivory made a giant soap carved with her face in it, which was much less creepy than it sounds. There was also a giant boulder-esque Ivory bar that partygoers could etch their names into ("This is going to be displayed in our office, so ... um ... keep that in mind when you're carving") and cocktails inspired by each of the three Ivory scents (pictured).

Also in attendance was Saturday Night Live cast member Abby Elliott, who plays Khloe in the always-hilarious Kardashian family spoofs. Not only does Abby have to switch gears to play multiple characters in a short timeframe, she also requires major hair and makeup changeovers in order to do so.

"I've had to go from tan Kardashian, with a black wig glued to my head, to Marilyn Monroe, in like five minutes," she said. "But our hair and makeup people [on SNL] are amazing." She admits that the multiple complicated makeup changes at work make her want to go barefaced the rest of the week. "Now that I'm blonde, though, I've been experimenting with brighter lipstick more. It's fun. This is NARS," Elliott said, pointing at her coral-colored mouth. (She didn't mention the shade, but it looks like Heat Wave to us.)

Katrina Bowden, who plays airheaded receptionist Cirie on 30 Rock, was perched on a white couch looking casual and relaxed. Like many partygoers, she said she'd been using Ivory since she was a little kid. But what about other products? "I love products!" she announced happily. "Armani foundation is my favorite. Oh, and the Neutrogena beauty bar." When it comes to her TV alter ego, Bowden admits that she and her character aren't too far apart in terms of beauty, but their hair and fashion styles diverge wildly. "She dresses like I dressed when I was fifteen."
