Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If there's one section of the accessories market TopShop has a lock on, it's the leather harness sector.
Though we're not sure where you might wear one—or for that matter, how you'd put it on—TopShop is offering the (winter?) accessory in not one but two colors, and has gone so far as to name it as a shopping category. So, if you're in a hurry, you merely have to look under "Harnesses and Braces" (right there between "Belts" and "Hats") to select the version of your choice.
We checked Zara, J. Crew, Anthropologie, Intermix, and ShopBob, and not one of TopShop's competitors yielded a single result for "harness," so it would appear that TopShop's trend forecasters are truly flying solo on this one.
At this point, we're just waiting for someone, anyone, to write a customer review.
