Nicholas Kirkwood A/W 2011
The British Fashion Council, the UK's version of America's CFDA, announced their shortlist for the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund competition today, and it includes a whole handful of heavy hitters. The nine lucky Brits are:

Jonathan Saunders
Marios Schwab
Mary Katrantzou
Meadham Kirchhoff
Nicholas Kirkwood
Peter Pilotto
Richard Nicoll
Roksanda Ilincic
Zoe Jordan

Each will present his or her collections and future plans for turning their label into a "global brand" before a panel of judges chaired by British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman. The winner will receive £200,000 and be paired with a fashion industry mentor. Good luck to all the designers, and, as Tim Gunn would say, make it work!
