Confirmed: Fashion's Night Out 2012

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Was anyone actually worried about this not happening? Fashion's Night Out—the after-hours shopping extravaganza that began in New York and has spread to more than 250 cities across the country—is confirmed for 2012.

There's have been mild rumors, tied to Fashion Week scheduling issues, that FNO would not be happening this year, but what with the wild popularity of the event (seriously, it's harder to get a taxi on FNO than it is on New Year's Eve), it would have been way more surprising if it weren't happening.

The official date is still TBD (again, that pesky Fashion Week scheduling conflict), but we wouldn't worry to much about missing the announcement when it's finally made. It's not like the thousands of participating retailers, magazines, and industry heavyweights are going to let you miss it or anything.
