Chanel's Knightsbridge Collection Takes Inspiration from London

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Consummate French brand Chanel has taken some beauty inspiration from a surprising place: London. Their new Knightsbridge collection, which available exclusively in Harrods (and online for us in North America) has British fingerprints all over it. Their three new lipsticks, Hyde Park, Belgravia, and Kensington, plus a hot-pink gloss called Chelsea, share names with London neighborhoods. There's also an almost-too-pretty-to-use blush/highlighter combo (pictured) called Brompton Road. Considering that the Harrods is on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, we can see where it all starts to fit together.
