DailyCandy's online shopping venture Swirl has shuttered, according to the site's homepage.
Swirl, a sample sale shopping site that offered major discounts on clothing and accessories, will be absorbed into Daily Candy's daily deal offerings, which include food and entertainment listings in addition to fashion.
Here's the notice on Swirl.com:
After two years of helping you stock your closet with Swirl.com, we're excited to let you know that DailyCandy Deals will now be your one-stop shop for amazing offers on all things fashion, food, and fun. At deals.dailycandy.com, you'll save up to 70 percent on your favorite sites around the Web as well as at hidden gems throughout your city.
Interestingly, the news of Swirls' demise comes just as other editorial entities are trying their own hand at e-commerce.
WWD announced this morning that InStyle will be launching a storefront with digital shopping ties on March 1.
And men's fashion stalwart GQ is currently partnering with Park & Bond, Gilt Groupe's men's fashion site, for a "Shop the Issue" pop-up.
We wish them better luck than Swirl had.
