Well, 2011 is almost over, so what would a week of year-end recaps be without a look back at this year's Biggest Shitshows? Join us as we look back at the few things that were just an absolute disaster this year.
John Galliano gets fired from Dior
Can you believe that the John Galliano mess started back in February and we are still talking about it now? For a very, very brief recap (our archives on this go back five pages), first he got all loosey-goosey and made those anti-semitic remarks, then he got suspended, then there was a video, a mob, and then the announcement that Dior would be letting him go.
But it definitely didn't stop there. The rumor mill was churning 'em out overtime, as speculation flied around as to who would replace him. Riccardo Tisci was the front-runner for a while, and then it was Marc Jacobs. And for a moment, there was even talk of Alexander Wang. As of now, months later, the seat is still empty.

Kanye West's debut collection
There couldn't have been more hype as to what Kanye West's debut womenswear collection would look like, whether it was about who would be helping him, where it would be made, or what it would look like. And then we saw it, and it was really bad. There were shimmery pants that lead to an unfortunate foopa situation, weird blouses and shorts to go with them, a strangely-ripped dress, and those shoes.
Kanye notoriously remarked, "I gave you everything that I had," but Bridget Foley summed that up wisely when she commented, "I sit in chairs, but it doesn't mean I can be a furniture designer." And Eric Wilson's account of it all was hilarious. Overall, Kanye's collection tanked but not for lack of trying. Just, perhaps, for lack of being a fashion designer.

The Kardashian's lawsuits, copyright infringements, and child labor accusations
Kim's divorce from Kris Humphries is really only the tip of the iceberg of what was really and truly a year of Kardashian messes. They were sued for $75 million for backing out of that strange credit card deal they had, then later in the year Kim sued Old Navy for featuring her doppelganger (and rumored flame of her ex-boyfriend, Reggie Bush) in a commercial.
But that was nothing compared to the Sears collection. Not only did it appear for pre-order already on sale, but there were a ton of knock-off bags. Fashonista rounded them all up in a side-by-side slideshow, and perhaps what was the most insane about this is it's not like the Kardashians don't own all of those bags in their original, designer form. So basically, it was like Khloe, Kourtney, and Kim sourcing their closets for inspiration and forgetting to change a few key details of what makes a Balenciaga bag a Balenciaga. Then, they were accused of using sweatshops, and of course, they're planning to sue.
Missoni for Target breaks the Internet
The first indicator that Missoni for Target was going to be an absolute nightmare was the press preview: It was packed beyond packed and everyone was grabbing everything willy-nilly (except the turtlenecks). On September 8th when the pop-up shop opened to the public, there was a four hour wait to get in and it ended up closing early because there was nothing left after a few bouts of ransacking.
And then it hit the stores and the web. First, the Target website crashed and the mobile site soon followed. Many of those who did manage to order something online found out that their orders would be delayed for about a month. And a lot of them were cancelled. One woman was charged $1,000, only to find out that Target wouldn't fill her order. Check out some other horror stories, and reminisce about all the shit that went up on eBay.
Honorable mentions: When Barneys had to cancel all those online orders, and when people tried to sell all this Versace for H&M stuff.
