"My influence for this collection started with my husband, Javier Piñón, whose last body of work, entitled O Babalon, has been an enormous inspiration to me," said Mara Hoffman about her fall 2011 collection. "We constantly inspire one another—and, because we are expecting our first child together, as artists we feel more creatively connected than ever."
Longtime fans of Mara Hoffman's vibrantly-printed dresses, separates, caftans, and resort-wear will notice the designer's tapped into a more tribal feeling for the fall. Dresses and gowns are made of stretch silk georgette, chiffon, silk jersey, and chunky knits and styling is darker and more dramatic than in previous collections.
