Playbutton is a new music accessory—a pocket-sized digital album perfect for co-branded packages and collaborations that encourage music fans to once again pledge loyalty by collecting. Buckler is a hip, New York-based contemporary and denim line for men. The two entities come together this Fashion Week—the line's show is tomorrow afternoon—in a collaborative effort featuring New York synth-pop duo Bubbles.
Bright yellow and appropriately button-like (bubble-like, too, actually), Andrew Buckler—designer of Buckler—plans to feature Playbutton in his runway show before gifting editors the gadget and inviting Bubbles to perform at the show's afterparty. Afterward, Playbutton will be available at Buckler boutiques and at Opening Ceremony. Here's to encouraging albums over singles, music as gifts, collectibility and a long future of fashion meeting rock 'n' roll!
In other Buckler-goes-tech news: Fashion photographer Chuin-Kai Shih is launching a new lens for Hipstamatic—iPhone's App of the Year. Called the Chunky—the lens offers sparkling high-definition photos; and from the 10th to the 17th you can download it for free courtesy of Buckler. To make things even more festive, Chuin-Kai Shih will be trolling Buckler's backstage and afterparty taking portraits and streaming images. Synergy!
