It may be Fashion Week in New York, but that doesn't mean that we don't get around to other fashion capitals, like good old Milan. Recently, while having a good stroll along Via Montenapoleone, we were struck by these windows of the Christian Dior boutique. Hello, Andy Warhol's "Clouds!"
Who knows if they are officially licensed pieces of Warhol art (although we doubt it), but Dior's preppy mannequins?one in the fluffiest striped fur sweater imaginable?floating atop them made for the best-looking window display on all of Via Montenapoleone. Considering how many storied Italian (and other international) luxury brands have super shiny stores on that street, we are slightly shocked to even be typing those words. But then again, this is a conservative quarter.
