We're huge fans of Patrik Ervell—menswear designer extraordinaire who just launched his first womenswear collection on the runway this week—but we hear he has a reputation for being quite shy and/or reserved. Of course, we find this character trait incredibly endearing. And, so, we love the interview he gave to The Cut after his show.
It starts off well, when Ervell tries to hide from the writer: "Exhausted from celebrating, he positioned his chair strategically behind a ficus plant." Then, when asked about his dad coming to the show for the first time, he seemed reluctant to talk about it. The exchange went something like this:
The Cut: Your dad came to the show for the first time. What did he think about it?· Patrik Ervell Launches Women’s [The Cut]Ervell: I guess I’ll talk to him tonight.
The Cut: I suppose he’s cold and Swedish like you?
Ervell: He thought the silhouettes were repetitive! I don’t know. He’s my dad. He texted me something in Swedish about being proud of me or something. I don’t want to talk about this.
