Unlikely Bedfellows: The Row Collaborates With Toms Shoes

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The most surprising fall designer collaboration we've heard of yet is this one, which comes to us courtesy of The Row—yes, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen—and charity buy-one-give-one shoe business Toms Shoes. The two companies have teamed up to offer luxe versions of Toms' signature slip-ons constructed of Italian-sourced wool and cashmere—and priced accordingly from $98 to $150.

"We feel it's really important to spread awareness of the Toms One for one mission," Ashley said in a statement. "For every pair of Toms + The Row shoe sold a child in need will receive a new pair of shoes."

"The giving is immediate," Mary-Kate added. "Having the opportunity to be a part of something so meaningful has made the collaboration with Toms special to everyone at The Row."

The shoes will arrive in stores this fall.
